Body-Mapping Technology

UNIQUEs are the world’s first “body-mapped” cyclists. Our entire experience and know-how has focused on squeezing out those studies and getting some sneakers with a new fit. Road UNIQUE sneakers offer a perfect combination of support, comfort and breathability.

The Horma

Our search for the perfect footwear for cycling began with the design of the ideal horma. We analyze data from many pairs of feet, collect the personal experience of a wide variety of athletes, analyze your preferences, aversions and needs regarding the sneakers they used. We perform a thorough study on foot anatomy, analyzing the optimal curve to get maximum power on each pedal stroke and minimizing weariness.

This work, including the experience of many cyclist experts, provided us with the necessary basis to design our horma. We are very proud that our development team has been involved in 100% in creating patterns for high performance sneakers. Thanks to them we managed to translate all those ideas and impressions into reality: the last patent Q36.5.

La q36.5 it's the most innovative idea applied to cycling: the heel, the side and the empeine fits to the maximum to the foot with precision. La point it is comfortable and follows the dynamics of the movement the pedaling.

The Template

We combine our experience and know how to develop the best badanas; Q36.5 and Elastic Interface® they have collaborated to create a new patent. We used the elastic foam high density we use in our badanas to create an innovative template, very comfortable. This is a template adaptable to the foot, which works as a viscoelastic foam that adapts to the foot. The template so absorbs the microvibrations of the road, which increases the comfort on long distance routes.

If we compare the UNIQUE template to conventional cyclist footwear templates – and even if we compare them to custom-made orthosis templates – the Q36.5 ensures a 10% less pressure (calculated at the highest pressure point).

The Empeine

The empeine area has been designed following a new pattern in one piece, without the usual tongue of other shoes. This way, fits the foot as a sock, thanks to the envelope interior natural microfiber. East patented elastic fabric is very breathable and it works like a refrigerator for the middle zone of the foot. This structure also avoids pressure points with your new locking system.
This part of the empeine comfortably wraps the foot with the construction based on the body mapping, including a ventilated area series. With a single millimeter of thickness, the microfiber is extremely breathable and avoids overheating. We have included reinforcements in the area arch of the bridge, to create the support and the necessary rigidity for performance.

WHY MICROFIBRA?
We have developed a specific microfiber for the empeine area with a thickness of only 1 mm. Breathable and elastic, this “calcetin” adapts perfectly to the foot from the cyclist. We use this microfiche tissue because we think breathability is fundamental and the usual materials in this type of footwear do not guarantee this property.

BOA® System fit

For this cutting-edge cyclist footwear, Q36.5 was clear that it should select the best option on the market for the UNIQUE slipper. A type of closure that combines perfectly with our design of the sock type, thus guaranteeing the performance. That's why we decided to partner with the exclusive BOA® Fit System. We have collaborated intensively to select the components and configure a really perfect tightening system; removing the pressure points that are common in cyclist footwear. Our common goal: to create the best fit system for high performance cyclist.

The UNIQUE sneakers come equipped with the new BOA® Li2 closure system. This is the ultimate solution for a precise, fast and easy adjustment to manipulate, in addition to light and low profile, has a tested resistance shockproof and abrasion. This dial works in both directions for a faster and more intuitive adjustment let's go. Q36.5 chose to use two dials because it allows maximum control for the cyclist.

The top BOA® dial tightening area ensures a uniform adjustment in the empeine, thanks also to a plastic guide without friction. The lower dial activates the antepié area, where we use three BOA® textile guides for a appropriate control. This performance-centred configuration, combined with innovative design and a unique horma, unite to create a truly exclusive cycling shoe.

Power Wrap Performance

The core of the top of the shoe is invisible but fundamental!

In the empeine area, we've devised a support system to maximize power transfer. This area is lined with a thermoplastic material that is moulded for a perfect fit and, at the same time, reinforces the microfiber inside the top.

The Power Wrap surrounds the empeine and keeps your foot in place, providing ergogenic help during pedaling and ensuring that don't miss a power watt.

The sole

The sole of this model has been designed to ensure safe support on any terrain, thanks to the composite material and its “vertebral” type construction, which optimizes stiffness along the sole, eliminating excess material.

TPU inserts, protect footwear in stretches and reinforce grip in complicated areas.
