SHIMANO GRX: first series of specific components for global gravel

After a thorough process of research, development and testing that has incorporated the experience of cyclists of all levels on asphalt and trails, Shimano presents the new GRX series, the first family of components specifically aimed at gravel and adventure cycling, designed to roll quickly and safely on land surfaces or loose gravel.

GRX offers RX800, RX600 or RX400 component series, with transmissions 1x11, 2x11 and 2x10, as well as mechanical and electronic change options Di2, which allows the cyclist to build his experience on mixed terrain and go beyond his usual limits in search of a wider range of land.

When creating this series, the development team Shimano it was even further with the aim of launching a platform that covers the current and future needs of cyclists. Whether in gravel, modern road adventure cycling, bikepacking or the most demanding cyclecross, SHIMANO GRX provides options ranging from marching relationships adjusted to gravel, custom ergonomics, integration of telescopic tile and specific GRX wheels with wider tire profiles.

COMPONENTS

Entering into details, GRX includes three options of bielas game –1x11, 2x11 or 2x10 speeds–, in addition to deviators and rear changes, disc brake bridge with online brake blanket option, and STI hydraulic left and right handles, which come both with the Di2 change and the mechanical change option.

These components use the leading technologies of SHIMANO transmissions, from the road and the mountain, in order to provide precision in the change and stability that are distinctive of the brand. The result with GRX is a smooth and silent transmission that has been specially adjusted to the characteristics of the gravel, both in terms of the terrain, as well as the position of the cyclist and the design of the bicycle.

Looking for maximum simplicity for the user, SHIMANO GRX recommends the cassettes and chains that are already part of its range for MTB (Deore XT, SLX or Deore) or road (Ultegra, 105, Tiagra). In addition to the main series GRX 800, there are 600 series pushers and bielas that combine perfectly with the 800 series components and the bile, deviators, pushers and brakes for 10 speeds. This means that you can mount any configuration, from a super-light bike to compete to a tougher and more powerful bike for leisure outings.
